  • How far in advance should I make a booking?
    We recommend booking as soon as you know you can travel, and have decided on which tour you would like to go on. Some of our tours can be quite popular so it’s best to secure your private activity as soon as possible.
  • How to book with Rio Smile Tours?
    Send a booking request from the website, Email:, Skype: riosmiletours or WhatsApp + 55 21 96589 0053. We will respond you within 24 hours to continue the booking process.
  • How can I pay my tour?
    Deposit - Between 20% to 100%, will be sent to you by e-mail simultaneously with the tour request. Advanced deposit percentage which varies according tourism season, enable us to hold the reservation. If payment of your tour is not made until the entered date, it will be automatically canceled. ​ Failure to complete payment - Automatic cancellation of your booking will occur if payment has not been received by the specified date. ​ Method - PayPal is an electronic payment processor that allows to send money securely without divulging your bank information. You can use this service even if you do not want to sign up for an account of your own, just choose Pay through Credit / Debit Card and PayPal is free of charge for the buyer. We will generate payment and send you the link by Email to request your advance tour deposit.​ After you made the payment, you will receive a confirmation by e-mail as soon PayPal notify us when the money has been transferred.
  • When I need to pay the balance?
    Final payment need to be paid at the first day tour only in cash, local currency or US Dollar / Euro
  • May, I reschedule the tour I have booked?"
    Yes, it is possible without any extra fees, if I am available on the requested date and at the requested time. Otherwise I can provide another certified English/ Spanish-speaking Tour guide to replace me.
  • How work Rio Smile Tours cancellation policy?
    30 days prior to excursion, 100% refund will be made via Paypal; 21 days prior to excursion, 50% refund will be made via Paypal ; 20 days prior to excursion and no refund will be made after this date; An activity is officially canceled when the guest send us an e-mail to: In the event of a Tourist No-show without cancellation, the deposit is not refundable; ​Cancellation policies may be superseded or cancellations by Rio Smile Tours for any other reason permitted under the Terms of Service, Please review these exceptions;
  • What happens if the tour is cancelled by the Tour guide?
    The only reason I would ever cancel a confirmed tour would be due to illness. In such a case, the customer could choose from 3 options: Reschedule the tour on a date suitable to both parties; Replace me with another certified English-speaking guide, who will respect all the conditions and prices mentioned in the tour description; Full reimbursement to the customer;
  • What is the policy on tipping?
    Tipping is not compulsory in Brazil, however is much appreciated. If you feel you have received excellent service and would like to show your gratitude a tip will be accepted by your guide who will be very grateful. There are no set amounts or guidelines on tipping in Brazil so what you feel comfortable with will be just fine.
  • Do I need travel insurance?
    We strongly recommend that all travelers take out appropriate travel insurance cover for all eventualities.
